We had the honor of staying at the Elkhart 4-H Fairgrounds Campground in Goshen, Indiana while we checked out RV manufacturers and the location was PERFECT! We also loved our site because it was leveled (which if you RV you know it saves a lot of time and minor headaches having leveled sites lol), lots of space and we had full hookup. The park was pretty empty because right now its the slower season in Indiana so it was nice for the kids they had plenty of room to run around without disturbing anyone nearby.
They have basketball hoops and a horseshoe area as well and very well kept! I checked out the restrooms and showers out of curiosity and they were spotless!
In their office lobby they have tourist information available 24/7 which is super convenient!
Since we are digital nomads and make a living thanks to this wonderful thing we called the World Wide Web having good internet connection is super important to us and we were very impressed that their free WI-FI worked so well! It was super fast and honestly allowed us to get quite a bit of work done like this wonderful review I was able to have completed!
We HIGHLY recommend staying here if you are loo
king for somewhere to stay while visiting Elkhart and surrounding areas. The fairgrounds are located in Goshen which is not a far drive from Elkhart and Middleburry so we checked out those areas and we also drove a bit of the Heritage Trail. We had dinner at Das Dutchman Essenhaus which is a must go to for a unique Amish style restaurant and we got to eat inside an Amish buggy they have with a table inside of it (I don’t know who was more excited me or the kids lol)! We also checked out Heartland RVs toy Hauler Factory in Elkhart and it was a beautiful car drive with all the fall colors
this time of year.
I can’t tell you enough about how phenomenal the location was! I was very excited to find that Aldis and Walmart were a very short drive away (literally 3 miles up the street)! If you know anything about me I LOVE GROCERY shopping at Aldis! LOL
The prices are very reasonable at this campground and something even better is they are open year round!!! This might not sound like a big deal but something we did not realize until this season was that many RV campgrounds close for the season! We had to leave the previous campground we were at for 10 days (and LOVING IT) because they closed on October 31st and we quickly realized most of the campgrounds in the area close they weren’t the only ones!!! Last year around this time we were back in our home base in Florida so we didn’t even know we were going to run into this issue until well we were left searching for places!
I had the opportunity to meet the General Manager and he was a super friendly and awesome guy! We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area!
